Obama's Explanation? And a Quote

Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was asked to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.

"As I've said before about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial, and less bellicose. I like the song, 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."

(IS HE KIDDING??? AND HE IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!!!)

Many thought he was a lightweight, but from his own mouth he says he doesn't want to take sides for the USA? How can he be President if he thinks of the American flag as a symbol of oppression, and he can't respect our national anthem and what the words represent? This radical liberal is not in touch with the American people if he believes the American people would EVER consider changing the national anthem to his choice of 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing'. He apparently wants to salute a song but not the country's flag. This guy is a danger to all! Please forward this to as many as you can. Everyone needs to see through his light airy tones and charismatic personality. Maybe THIS is part of what he meant about 'change'?

Dumbest Quote of the Century:

'My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it.'

- Barack Obama
